An access control system (ACS) is an element of a security system created on the basis of technical devices and electronic control systems integrated into a single network operating on specially developed software.
In addition, the access control system allows you to automate the accounting of working time at the enterprise and in the office, thereby facilitating the work of the organization’s personnel services.
ACS includes the following elements:
- executive mechanisms (locks, turnstiles, sluices);
- electronic identifiers (plastic cards, “electronic tablets” and other devices);
- readers (plastic cards and other electronic identifiers);
- personal code entry device (PIN code);
- biometric identification devices;
- control devices for actuators (controllers, hubs);
- equipment for interfacing the local network of access control with a computer;
- system administrator software.
