Directly Expanded Systems (DX)
The most common solution for organizing data center air conditioning when it comes to low specific heat loads.
Such systems are built on the basis of freon precision air conditioners.
The principle of operation of the latter is based on the supply of freon equipment to the indoor unit, which expands and evaporates with the return of cold to the room air.
The advantages of such systems are relatively low cost, combined with high reliability and long service life. DX-systems impose requirements for power systems and premises.
Coolant systems (CW)
Solution for medium and large data centers. The principle of the system is to cool the air in the heat exchanger of the air conditioner due to the circulation of the coolant cooled in the refrigeration machines (chillers).
From DX-systems, CW-systems are distinguished by lower operating costs and flexibility.
Rack-integrated cooling systems. High heat loads can remove a closed cooling cycle in a rack.
Specialized server cabinets can be equipped with cooling systems, power protection, fire extinguishing, emergency ventilation and monitoring.
In this case, there is no need for raised floors, and cooling devices are close to the heat load.
Air ventilation
The system of ventilation and exhaust ventilation provides fresh air and exhaust air, and is also designed to create excess pressure to avoid dust and harmful substances into the room.
The system of exhaust ventilation has two modes of operation:
- generalexchangeventilation
- emergencyforced-airventilation
